Who am I? Who am I? I’m 2-4-6-0-1!!!

Forgive me, I couldn't resist. (I am a huge “Les Miserables” fan, what can I say?) We are dishing up some introductions this week here at the Daily Fast Fuel as our writing team is entering a new season with TWO new team members, Lisa Arnold and Lezlie Winberry! We are so excited to have a little shake up in the kitchen. I can’t wait to see what the Lord serves up through these new voices.

In the mean time, HOWDY! I’m Katie. I’m a 37-year-old mom of two kids, Noah (5) and Simon (2). My husband Phillip and I live under the same roof as my parents, my brother and three large dogs. Multi-generational living is THE thing. If you don’t believe me, stick around. I talk about it often. Maybe I’ll convince you to move back in with your parents too. They’ll thank me for it.

Traveling is a passion of mine and I am always up for a new adventure. This comes as a direct result from moving all over the place throughout my life. After being born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana for a time (Cajuns, cher!), I have lived in…

…and most recently, back in Texas again.

I tend to retrace my steps, it seems. I wouldn't mind retracing them back to London! Not that I’m picking favorites, or anything…

I have followed God on an exciting journey, thus far. While I started my career in the corporate world, I was eventually called into Seminary with five years in full-time Youth Ministry following. I used to preach often and LOVED it. Every now and then, as invitations arise, I still get the opportunity to bring the Word.

I retired from the world of lock-ins and whirlwind youth mission trips when my second son was born. I am now back in the corporate world with one foot stubbornly keeping the door of ministry open by writing here at the Daily Fast Fuel. This ministry has also given me the great reward of writing alongside my sister, and fellow DFF writer, Sara Rust!

When I am not writing here, I am encouraging life transformation over at my Facebook page, My Next 20. Jesus and I had a great heart-to-heart this last Spring when I lamented at a 20^th year High School Reunion that I had not accomplished all that I had dreamed of so many years ago. Jesus’ words that day have propelled me forward into a new venue of ministry. Jesus challenged me: “Why not start again, today?” 

Why not, indeed? My next 20 years are a “do over”, and so are yours.

So who am I? I am a person in love with new beginnings.

I love that we have new writers, Lisa Arnold and Lezlie Winberry!

I love that we serve the King who makes all things new!!

I can’t wait to see what new dishes He will be serving up here at the Daily Fast Fuel. What an incredible privilege it is to continue to write about it!
