Then Sings My Soul

I like hymns. I know that might be odd these days, but I do. There are quite a few you'll find me singing around the house, but one that is on constant repeat in my head is "How Great Thou Art."

Just read the lyrics...

O Lord my God,When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
(Chorus)Then sings my soul,My Savior God, to Thee,How great Thou art, How great Thou art
Then sings my soul,My Savior God, to Thee,How great Thou art, How great Thou art

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
It just moves me. The chorus comes to mind when I'm having a difficult day. It's the first verse playing whenever I walk through a wooded trail or look out of the window of a plane. I find myself humming it during mundane tasks, when my kids are bouncing off the walls and other times when humanness stares me in the face. It's a comfort to know that regardless of what I face, He is still great. And, my favorite version of the hymn is sung by my absolute favorite, CeCe Winans. Give it a Google and a listen. I'm certain it will bless you.
