Little Dream Journey

I have a love/hate relationship with dreaming. I looooove to
dream. I have often thought through my dreams with elaborate details. Often
times, the more elaborate they become, the more fun I have imagining them. The
only problem is, I haaaaaaaaate being disappointed.
Confession: My distaste for disappointment has often stunted
my dreams.
I will be the first to admit that I waffle back and forth
about how earnestly I ask for my dreams (as Joline encouraged us to do on
Monday) and how earnestly I persist in my dreams (as Anitra encouraged us to do
on Tuesday).
While I often find dreaming with abandon a frustrating
consideration, God knows I am not ready to throw in the towel! No really, I
mean that. He knows. That is why I often hear Him whispering to me with
dreamy instructions...
Hey, gal. I can see
you are hesitant, so we can start small. Why not dream a little dream of Me? I
will never disappoint you. Ever. Let’s see…I know how much you love Colorado. Can
you imagine the two of us hiking together? You know the place. Perhaps we’ll
just stop on the trail awhile and take in the view. Isn’t that a lovely dream? Rest
easy, kiddo. Enjoy the peace I bring you. When you’re ready, we can dream a
little bigger. I’m not going anywhere. We’ll do this together.
I love it when God talks to me like that. He helps me to build up my dreams, one elaborate detail at a time. Sometimes He even
serenades me. He is so patient. He is so kind. He is supposed to be like that,
you know. He IS Love, after all.
I leave you, then, with a serenade from my Fella. May he
coax you to dream a little dream to build on…
Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper, “I love you”
Birds singing in the Sycamore Trees
Dream a little dream of Me…
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind
you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of Me…
Yes, dream a little dream of Me.
Amen.
