"Point App"

A good friend of mine told me about this app for my smart phone that is so cool – it’s called “Point”. No matter where you go, you can click on the Point App and it brings up a list of things in the area such as “Restaurants, gas stations, entertainment, lodging, shopping, etc.” You can find anything you need nearby with just a click of your finger, even if you’re in an unfamiliar place. I LOVE that! I never have to feel lost, or go without...I mean anyone can find the fast food restaurants right off the highway, but you might have missed the good shopping and the little Mom & Pop restaurants that are off the beaten path. Point not only lets me know what’s available, but it gives me a map, and step by step directions on how to get there. It’s even voice activated so I can drive and listen to the directions as I go.

How many of you would enjoy having some detailed directions? Or perhaps even a voice telling you which way to go? This is especially true when I’m in unfamiliar territory.

Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd, and in John 10:27 He said, “My sheep know My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” I think most of us want to follow the Lord’s direction, but question if we are really hearing correctly. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish His voice above our own will. But He said we know His voice, so I guess sometimes we just need to quiet our voice long enough to hear His.

If you’re like me, and you have some important decisions that need to be made, and you desperately need to press the “Point App” of God’s Word to get some guidance…remember what He’s promised in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.”
