Cutting Corners?

Proverbs 14:23. All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.

Convenience is appealing - offering quick solutions to potential challenges. Only, left unchecked, actively seeking convenience can become a nasty habit, tempting one to cut corners and attempt the bare minimum to achieve a goal or finish a project. Do we really expect to profit with this attitude? Why do we shudder at the thought of hard work?

Would you have commissioned Jesus to build a bench? Or a table? I would have. For I can not imagine Jesus offering up shoddy work. He doesn't strike me as One who would rush to finish a job by leaving one leg shorter than another, or an edge left unsanded. Jesus didn't seem to adopt a “They'll never notice” attitude towards the creations He crafted with His very hands. You included.

Jesus gives meticulous attention to all He designs. He is the perfect model of how we should approach "work".

Of any kind.
