A Little Grinch Won't Ruin Your Christmas

Howdy all! A very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I know you are probably padding around in your PJ's toting a coffee, and if you have little ones the volume is totally crazy and you've got wrapping paper covering your floor...HOWEVER...I just want to offer up a quick word of encouragement this busy, wonderful day before you dive back into it.

Every Christmas has a little Grinch in it.

(I know you're thinking, "didn't she just tell me she had something encouraging to say??"

I do. Stay with me.)

Every Christmas has a little Grinch in it. Said another way, every Christmas has a little something that has taken (or threatens to take) an element of your anticipated or traditional Christmas celebration away.

Money is tighter this year.
You just moved.
This will be your first Christmas without your mom, your dad, or your child.
This is your first Christmas away from home.
This is your first Christmas as a parent.

As time changes, so does the appearance of Christmas. The traditions may change, the folks present may look like a different crowd, but no matter what...

...the birthday boy is always the same.

He is the beginning and the end. The Alpha and the Omega. Take comfort in the changes each Christmas season brings and remember that Jesus just began another year of his reign.

Jesus is still King, and worthy of celebrating no matter what craziness shook up your family in the last year.

You celebrate!
Go on. You can do it.

"He puzzled and puzzed till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. Maybe Christmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more!"
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr. Suess
