How do I
know God loves me? All I have to do is
look and see.
When I look
at my husband, my exact opposite in so many ways--strong where I am not, wise
where I am not, kind where I am not, techy where I am not, loving when I am not--I
see God’s love for me.
When I look
at my sons, both of them miracles, fun and funny and smart and talented and
just plain stinkin’ awesome, I see God’s love for me.
In the acceptance
and encircling of family I see God’s love for me.
In the
laughter, tears, and tough love of friends I see God’s love for me.
When the
birds sing and the sunbeams warm and the wind caresses my face and plays with
my hair I see God’s love for me.
When I reflect
on reliable electricity, a working hot water heater, and money to spend on bubble
bath, I see God’s love for me.
When I experience a waterfall, a fountain, even soap bubbles in the kitchen sink, I am
reminded of the gift of Living Water, and I see God’s love for me.
When I ask
Him where my keys are and He leads me to them, I see God’s love for me.
In the difficulty of forgiveness, for myself and for others, I see God's love for me.
When I
smell, taste and savor coffee, I see God’s love for me.
In the comfort of a phone call or a hug I see God's love for me.
In the
blooms of Spring and the colors of Fall I see God’s love for me.
When I
contemplate His One and Only Son hanging on a cross in my place, I see God’s love for me.
