The Good that Comes From Hardship

2008 was a tough year for one of my children. Thus, it was a tough year for Mom as well. Overwhelming. My mind was foggy, my heart was anxious, my focus was set on finding answers. Every step seemed to take too long. I wondered if anyone was listening. My gut was telling me to advocate for my child, and yet the barriers just seemed so high. I didn't know which steps to take. The map was confusing. The whole gerbil on a wheel analogy? Yep, that was me.

Eventually, in His time, all was figured out. I know - cliche. All in God's time. All in God's time.

I prayed at the time, that He would use my journey to bless someone else. That everything we endured would not be in vain. I prayed that He would use me as a map for someone else who would need to talk the same journey. If I could lessen someone's load, I would be glad to do so. And, grateful to be used. Grateful and willing to pass along what He revealed to me on my journey.

It is 2013. 5 years later. FIVE. YEARS. LATER. Got that? 5, as in, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.

Recently, I was blessed to have helped someone else navigate a similar course for their child. God helped me recall all the details necessary to help this Mama start a journey as well. What was once a hard situation, was actually God's goodness waiting to be shared.

I KNEW He would use our time of confusion for good. When? I had no idea.

Sometimes, good comes through the experience of something quite difficult.

Isaiah 61:3.
