The Power of Your Memory
We've all heard people say as they get older that their memory isn't what it used to be. Have you ever walked in a room and forgotten what you came in there for? I have...and I'm not THAT old! God designed the mind in an amazing way, especially when it comes to your ability to remember. Memory is described as your brain's ability to "store, retain, and recall information and experiences".I realize that there are those whose ability to remember some experiences may seem more like a curse than a blessing. We've all made mistakes, or had things happen to us that we wish we could forget. Often our response, either consciously or subconsciously, is to suppress these memories in an effort to hide them from others, ourselves, and even God (as if that were possible). Psalm 139 says that we are never out of God's presence. That means that He was with me on days I wanted to remember for a lifetime, as well as the times I would give anything to be able to forget. Guess what? He loves me the same in both situations!
This week, we’re going to talk about how your memory can be your friend, and not a foe. There’s a time to remember, and a time to forget, and we’ll explore what God’s Word has to say about this.
So don’t FORGET to drop by each day!
