The Card

For some of us, the sound of "Thank You Card" conjures up images of being emotionally pinned to the kitchen table by your loving mother, scribing away little notes of gratitude after birthdays or Christmas.  For others, it's the grand task that follows a wedding.  Whatever your context for "the card." It may be a fine time to renew it's place in your life -but this time with a twist.

Written notes seem a dying art these days - and unexpected thank you cards are a simple treasure. They are made especially delightful when sent without any particular reason or rhyme- but because you had a thankful thought come to mind.

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful."  Colossians 3:15

This month, I challenge you to think of four people who have touched your life in a special way.  Maybe it was this past week - maybe it was 20 years ago.  Thankfulness transcends time.
Each week this month, sit down and write one of those people a simple thank you card.  Share what they mean to you and why you are thankful.  And let the love of God wash over them, through your attitude of gratitude.

Who knows what this simple act might release in your life and theirs!  God calls us to be thankful because it helps us draw near to Him.  So draw near to your Father this month, tell someone, "thank you."  And let God draw them to Himself as they experience His love through you.
