Season Shifter

Fall is one of my happy places.
Dress it up with a lovely cardigan, crunching leaves, and a warm beverage snuggled between my fingers, and I'm a happy camper. The weather is cooling down, and with it - something inside me speaks of rest and refreshing.
In my little abode in Northern California, summers are outrageously hot. The norm is a good 110-115 degrees. And though the swelter of summer is bearable with a sprinkle of trips to the lake, jaunts to the mountains or lounging by the A.C., fall truly comes like a little superhero. It swoops in just in time, to save us from the monotony of hot.
As we reflect on the changing of seasons and the cooling of weather I am reminded of Jesus - my personal season shifter.
When I feel like I'm living in a furnace, with the pressures of life burning around me - there is one who can bring refreshing to my life - at any time, on any day, in any season.
He is the man who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
The one who comforts me. (Psalm 86:17)
The one who goes before me. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
The one who can stand with me in the furnace of life - and protect me from the flames. (Daniel 3:25)
He is my rest. (Psalm 62:5)
He is Jesus.
May the Lord refresh you this season with comfort, peace, and breakthrough through Christ.
