Where Waters Flow

Don't laugh.

My shower is my sanctuary.

(I asked you not to laugh!)

I know it's a little peculiar, but it's absolutely true. For longer than I can remember it's been my place to meet with God, hear from Him and find answers, direction and peace.

So now, my secret is out. I don't mind though, because my goal in sharing it was to emphasize that your sanctuary can be anywhere. The Lord is there with you wherever you are, and any place you can be still and give him your focus is a place you can call your sanctuary.

Like most kingdom things, we over-complicate what He's made simple. We no longer have to do the work required of Old Testament saints. When we need to meet with God, we need only come boldly, come seeking, come expecting and come often.

And isn't it exciting that He invites us to come--to the shower, to the car, to the kitchen table, to wherever you can feel His presence and hear Him clearly. Where is that place for you? Is it as peculiar as mine? I'd love to hear about it in a comment!

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.   (Hebrews 4:16)

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:3-4)

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. - (Psalms 23:2)
