The Residue of Worship

Most Sundays, I worship under the heat of beaming stage lights. No matter how comfortably I dress, by the time we leave the stage, I'm sweating like I've just worked out. And, while sometimes our worship experience is akin to a workout, I break a sweat even in those rare times when I'm subdued. When I leave the stage, it's evident that I've been under those lights. The perspiration is a reminder of where I've been and what I've experienced.
I'd like to hope that this little experience has some spiritual implications. Just as the perspiration proves that I've worshiped under lights, I hope that my life proves that I've worshiped in the Light. My prayer is that the residue of my time in His presence is evident to those around me. It's a residue I don't ever want to wipe off although I sure don't mind when it rubs off on others.
