Act Like An Apostle

I love the book of Acts. It is a "story" I've read and re-read tons of times, finding some new nugget to chew on each time I dig in. It's an amazing accounting of how we came to be--how we moved from being individual believers to a body of believers doing life together. The story of the early church has always fascinated me and when it comes to examining life according to the Apostles, I can't think of a better place to start.

When I read the book of Acts, I see more than just a historical accounting--I find truth that speaks to the power of fellowship, the power of prayer and the power of God at work through us. The power of sacrifice, the power of praise and God's power to save are also pulsating through the pages. It is also proof of what can happen when God is at work in us and it thrills me to the core each time I read its miracle-filled pages.

For me, acting like an apostle means believing that God is the same God who poured out His spirit on the apostles and the early church. I believe that kind of believing can shake the planet. The book of Acts is proof of that.
