Psalm 23: The Last Word

This week we Daily Fast Fuel gals wrap up our musings on Psalm 23 as we consider the final verse:

v.6 "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

What do you think of when you read this popular verse? What comforts and assurances does it bring to your mind? Pray with us this week that we get to the heart of the matter, that the meditations of our hearts will be pleasing in God's eyes.

Amen.

Howdy Readers! The Daily Fast Fuel gals continue to spend our time in Psalm 23, this week, we focus on verse 5:

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."

In the Valleys

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me. - Psalm 23:4

This week our crew will be pausing to reflect on the promise of God to be with us when we find ourselves in the valleys of life.  Join us as we explore the majesty of His goodness that remains when the landscape around us looks less than appealing.

Green Pastures, Quiet Waters, Loving Restoration

*Sigh*

Yeah, I love me some green pastures and quiet waters. Even better if The One Who Loves Me leads and guides me there.

How about you? Do you need some refreshing?

Join my Daily Fast Fuel Sisters and me as we ponder (no pun intended) Psalm 23:2 and 3, and take this week to grow closer to The One Who Restores Our Souls.

I Lack Nothing

How can it be August already? But here we are. And this month the Daily Fast Fuel gals are doing something really special. We are going to explore the 23rd Psalm one piece at a time.

If you have never studied scripture this way, you are in for a real treat. We will spend each week exploring just one verse. Intense focus, folks! Five writers praying for wisdom from our Lord, about  just one small piece in the Bible. If you have any doubt that we will have many new things to explore this week from the simple little verse, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing,” then you haven’t really seen the Living Word in action.

So, hang on to your hats! And while you’re hanging, I invite you to explore the verses with us. Crack open that Bible and read along. Pray that the Word will come alive in a new way for us all.

Here we go…!!

Read All About It!

God is in the news. Sometimes we may not see Him...or the story. Maybe it was just a neighbor up the street who did something amazing for the local school. Maybe it was an outreach group who fixed an elderly man's fence. Whatever it may be, we know God is working all around us!

This week, we're going to share with you a cool story or two of where we see God working in our communities. Let us know where you have seen an example of God working in your local news recently!

Life Lessons

It may be summertime, but school remains in session for your spirit.  God is fascinated and delighted in the journey of revealing to us who He is - and who we are in Him.  This week our servers are dishing up some delicious nuggets of things we are learning about our Father and about ourselves.  Grab a few napkins.

This could be juicy.

"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." Jeremiah 33:3

The Business of Joy

We pray for help in our time of need, don't we? I'd venture to say, for most of us, that means praying for health, healing, and resources like financial assistance.

But have you ever prayed for JOY?

This week, the Daily Fast Fuel gals will be exploring that question. When have you, plain and simple, just prayed for joy? For a smile on your face and laughter in your house? What prompted you? What did you hope for? How did it turn out? Join us this week with your own comments and let us know about a time you actively sought out joy?

This week we will continue in that flavor - celebrating Fathers.
Join us as we reflect on a Father like no other.

June Word Association: Bride

We’re doing a little word association here at Daily Fast Fuel for the month of June. This week we will muse over the word BRIDE. Scripture tells us that “bride” is used to describe us for Christ, whether individually or as a whole – The Church.

Consider this your invitation to join us every day as we write about what being a BRIDE means to us! No need to RSVP or bring gifts. We’ll hold space for you.

What's New!

School is over for most of us but that doesn't mean life lessons are finished. The same is true when we study and meditate over God's Word. His instructions don't end with familiarity. There is a mysterious and miraculous newness to every turn we take in our lives.  God is ready, willing and able to help us tackle every new adventure we face, no matter how big or small.

This week we'll share what the Lord has taught us about stepping into the new. New homes, new jobs, new roles, new states, new journeys. Perhaps you need a little encouragement for something new you've stepped into and would love to read how God might meet or lead you along the way?

Join us every day this week. I know I'll be here soaking up every blessing poured out in words penned by my sisters at Daily Fast Fuel!

Lessons on PEACE

The desire for world peace may sound like a beauty queen's cliche, but the truth is the world groans for PEACE.  What we wouldn't give for a little peace and quiet somedays, anyone?

This week we are sharing lessons we've learned about this gift called peace.

"I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart.  And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." John 14:27

Life Lessons in JOY

According to Nehemiah, the Joy of the Lord is our Strength (Neh 8:10).

Wait…WHAT? Strength comes from joy? How is that even possible?

What else is Joy? What isn’t joy? Above all, what has God taught our Daily Fast Fuel Kitchen Crew about Joy?

This is the place to find out, and this is the week to do it. Join us as we get a little joy thing going.

Help Overcoming Perils Eventually

You’re stuck. The walls of safety caved in. Your spouse has cancer; your teenage is cutting; your boss just laid you off. Your mind tells you to get out of bed; your heart can’t beat just yet. Friends say, “Remember, there’s always hope.” Really? Why can’t I feel it? You ask aimlessly.

This week the gals at dailyfastfuel will reflect on what life in Christ has taught us about Hope. Why do we need it? How have we seen it work in our lives? Where does it come from?

It’s not a feeling (happiness); it’s not a given (forced); but it is a Person, “For You are my Hope, O Lord God . . . By You I have been upheld from my birth.” (Psalm 72: 5&6)

Gold Digger

"Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory." - 1 Peter 1: 7 (The Message)

This week, the Kitchen Crew at the Daily Fast Fuel is cooking up some thoughts about the gilded side of faith. What's that refiner's fire all about? And why should we dig for gold?

Read on, friends! We're praying for a revelation this week that speaks directly to your heart.

Colors of Spring: Purple

Purple.

Look up the meaning and you will uncover an abundance of words to describe the intermediate color between the coolest blue and fieriest red.

You’ll find purple linked to royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. You’ll also discover it represents wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.

In Ancient Rome, purple was known as a position of rank, authority, or privilege. But Jesus was mocked when He was dressed in a purple robe.

Why?

This week Sara, Katie, Lezlie, Debbie and I will be meditating on how the color purple Jesus now wears in victory is so important for our King of Kings. Would you kindly join us every day this week and read what God has placed on our hearts to share with you?
