Yep.
Just one.
That’s
all we need.
Know
what it is?
I’ll
give you a hint. It’s both a noun and a verb. It’s a BE, and it’s a DO.
Give
up?
It’s
LOVE (I know. You already guessed it. Blah
blah blah you’re very smart).
So…that’s
it. That’s
everything.
Jesus
took the ENTIRETY of the Old Testament, hundreds of thousands of thoughts and words
and insights and actions, and summed all of it up in ONE WORD (isn’t He an
absolute GENIUS?).
Love.
And
not just HAVE love or GIVE love, but BE love.
DO.
EVERYTHING. IN. Love.
WITH
love. THROUGH love. BECAUSE OF love.
NOT
with Warm Fuzzy. NOT through romance. NOT because hormones tell you to.
BUT,
with pain. Through sorrow. Because He loved us first.
And
as a verb? LOVE God. LOVE people (that covers EVERYbody).
Like
Nike says, Just Do It.
Purposefully
put THEIR needs, desires, hopes, dreams, schedules, pain, sorrow, whining, issues,
drama, BEFORE your own (and yes, you have some of all of those things. So do I).
That’s
the best advice I can give myself or anyone.
Love.
