The Power of Speech

I have made mistakes.
I have been hurt.
I have been confused.
I have been arrogant.
I have been rash.
I have been misunderstood.
I have been regretful.
I have assumed.
I have gossiped, lied, misspoke, inserted myself . . . Can you relate with any of these statements?

I am a social media maven. I write for a number of blogs. I run a successful online business. I use social media to my advantage. And . . . disadvantage. Sooooo much can be misunderstood, taken out of context, and assumed when in the form of online mediums. Sometimes, we just need to do the old fashioned thing to clear the air. Talk.

Face to face. To ask forgiveness. To clarify. To communicate hurt. To forgive. Talking CAN become a lost art. Or not.

2013 is barely three months old and already I've seen God work in powerful ways through face to face communication in my life.

Why would we choose NOT to talk through a relationship hic-cup we are having via face to face, or phone? Why would we choose to simply resort to a written form of communication?

One reason. Fear. The flip-side of fear is God's power. And God's power IS found in conflict, for show me a relationship which has prevailed following a conflict, and you will find a relationship that is stronger than one that avoids confronting the icky stuff. I choose depth over surface.

And only through God's power can I do so honorably and honestly. I need him as my Voice and my Guide.
