Herod's Lineage

"...for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” (Matthew 2:13 NKJV)
...and he would be the first of many; Just one in a long line of people who would valiantly seek to discredit our king.
The same insecurity and anger that raged in Herod has fueled countless attempts to destroy the cause of Christ. He set a pattern of jealousy and fear that others would easily follow. Too bad more of them didn't read long enough to get to the end of the story.
Had they read, they would have discovered that God finishes what He starts and watches over His Word to perform it. They'd realize that God's plans cannot be thwarted by human schemes and that when it comes to His people, He's always working for our good.
So, Herod's of the world, give up. You couldn't destroy Him then and you cannot destroy us now. Ours is a legacy that is everlasting, while yours is a legacy whose end will most assuredly come.
