Got Lent?

Lent, in many Christian denominations, is the name given to the season that begins with Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter.  Many choose to fast, or give something up, during this time as they turn their hearts to reflecting on the sacrifice Jesus made for us all.

Personally, I was not too familiar with Lenten practices until I went to college and suddenly many of my close friends began to forsake chocolate this time of year.  I thought it was brilliant plan.  Focus on Jesus. Shave an inch off the waistline.  And celebrate with a little cocoa bunny at the end.  Perfect.   When I chose to participate in Lent this way one year, I discovered far more riches than the bounty of a good Easter basket.  Ever since, Lent has become a beautiful season to me - whether I give something up, add something new, or simply turn my heart to God anew.

This week the lovely ladies at the Daily Fast Fuel will be sharing reflections and lessons learned from our seasons of preparing for Easter.  So whether you've got Lent, or you've never heard of it before, join us as we prepare our hearts to remember and celebrate again, what Love really looks like.

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us." 1 John 3:16
