Numbers 6:24-26
and keep you;
25 the LORD make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
You now have a glimpse into the blessing I pray over my children every night. I've wondered if I should change it up from time to time, and thus, I have. But I always return these verses. For when I alter the evening blessing, my kiddos seem to miss it, and ask for the "one with peace."
When I pray over them, I always leave out the last line. Kind of a "fill in the blank" blessing. I want them to know that God welcomes their voices. And their requests.
Even a request for Peace.
